Dupath Farm Callington PL17 8AD
Adrian and his father, Peter Coombe, now semi-re red, run a 380 mixed farm 2/3 owned, with the rest on a rolling year by year tenancy. There are 180 beef ca le, bought as calves and taken through to nishing on the farm. There is a contract calf rearing unit. The former Healthy Livestock Cornwall Sheep Focus Farm has 500 North Country mules put to Charollais rams. Cropping includes 70 acres of winter and spring barley with 6 acres of potatoes. A biomass boiler heats the farmhouse and a conference room and there is a recently installed 8kW solar PV system.
Bonyalva Farm Trerulefoot, Saltash PL12 5BX
Clive, Miriam and their son Robert Andrews farm in partnership with 180 acres (Bonyalva) rented from the Duchy of Cornwall, 70 acres owned (Tresulgan) and 40 acres contract-farmed for a neighbour. They currently milk 160 cows with milk being sold to Arla. All replacements are reared on farm and a small number of beef ca le are nished. The farm is predominately down to grass with 40 acres of cereals added into the rota on. A new dairy complex was built in 2011/2012, making easy working and comfort for the cows.
