Devon County Show Celebrates its 121st Year

This year the Devon County Show is celebrating its 121st year, the event is being held at Westpoint Arena in Exeter from the 19th of May and it is a fantastic opportunity for people to come together and celebrate all that makes Devon great.  The show is one of the premier agricultural shows of the year and as such, with farming taking centre stage, it is expected to draw in crowds of up to 95,000 people over the 3-day event.

Crediton Milling is proud to sponsor the Stockman’s Dinner, which is held on the Friday evening for all farmers who bring their cattle to the show. In working closely with many farmers across Devon, supplying them with the animal feed which ensures their cattle, chicken and sheep get the nutrition they need, we understand the commitment they have to their work – so being able to support the Stockman’s Dinner in this way is very important to us.

Devon County Show is a fantastic event where farmers can showcase their animals and celebrate the success and strength of the farming industry in Devon, but it’s not just an exclusive event for farmers – the public are invited too.

The Show has a range of different activities for all of the family, from a children’s farm, grand parades of livestock and sheep shearing to motocross stunt team displays and a 4×4 wheel drive course for visitors to test their driving skills. There are also hundreds of different stalls by independent businesses from across Devon, showcasing the diversity of their work.

And, in its 121st year, we’re also going to see the arrival of a giant ferris wheel, dubbed the ‘Devon Eye’, which cost £1 million. We’re really looking forward to having a go on that and witnessing the amazing views of Devon from the top!

If you haven’t got your ticket already, you can buy them online directly from the Devon County Show website. We hope you can join the celebration.
