Sheep excel on grass silage and CMC lamb feed

CMC lamb feed to the rescue – these good-looking lambs topped Exeter market last Monday Sheep.

Reared by customers’ of ours, the Cullen family started lambing on the 12th December 2019 and due to the exceptional weather conditions, they have been fed on grass silage and CMC lamb feed!

Silage is pasture grass that has been ‘pickled’. It is a method used to preserve the pasture for cows and sheep to eat later when natural pasture isn’t good, like in the dry season. The grasses are cut and then fermented to keep as much of the nutrients (such as sugars and proteins) as possible.
