Understanding the urgent need to address climate change, our vision is to integrate environmental sustainability into every facet of our operations, ensuring that we contribute positively to the planet while maintaining our standards of excellence.

Primary Aims for Environmental Commitment:

  2. Zero Carbon Transport Fleet by 2030: We aim to revolutionize our transport systems, committing to a 100% clean, zero-carbon transport fleet by 2030. This includes transitioning to alternative fuels and electric vehicles.
  3. Transition to 100% Renewable Energy by 2028: Our goal is to source all of our energy requirements from renewable sources by 2028, investing in sustainable energy technologies and practices.
  4. Elimination of Non-Recyclable Packaging by 2028: CMC is working towards eliminating non-recyclable packaging from our products by 2028, focusing on eco-friendly packaging solutions.
  5. Sustainable Feed Material Sourcing by 2025: We are committed to sourcing all our feed materials from sustainable and environmentally friendly sources by 2025, ensuring responsible supply chain practices.

Our Strategic Approach:

  • Science-Driven and Flexible Strategy: CMC adopts a science-led approach, regularly reviewing and adapting our strategies to align with the latest environmental research and technological advancements.
  • Collaborative Efforts: We recognize our influential role in the agricultural supply chain and actively collaborate with our partners, customers, and industry peers to promote environmental responsibility.
  • Advocacy for British Agriculture: CMC advocates for environmentally sustainable practices in British agriculture, known for its efficient production systems and high standards of animal welfare. We aim to build upon these strengths to drive positive environmental change.
  • Focused Initiatives: Our environmental strategy encompasses a comprehensive plan to reduce operational and value chain emissions. Key focus areas include transportation, energy consumption, packaging, and feed material sourcing.
  • Supporting the Broader Sector: We offer various services and guidance to help our clients and the agricultural sector at large in reducing their carbon footprints and adopting sustainable practices.
  • Procurement of raw materials: 100% of our soya products are purchased from Non land use change certified producers, we also use RTRS certification. We are members of Round Table on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO). As early adopters of sustainability credentials, we strive to ensure that the raw materials we source for our feed products are sustainable to the best of our ability. Our Evolution range was developed some time ago to deliver quality products for milking cows, dry cows, youngstock and beef & sheep containing no soya and no palm. We are constantly reviewing the research available in this rapidly changing area and are working closely with processors and retailers.

Conclusion:

The challenge ahead is significant, but CMC is unwavering in our commitment. Through transparency, innovation, and collaboration, we are on a path to not only meet but exceed our environmental goals. Our journey towards a sustainable future is integral to our mission, ensuring that we contribute positively to both the agricultural sector and the global environment.
